LocalGovCamp and Fringe 2015 was held from 10am to 4.30pm on 11 and 12 September at The Studio, Riverside West, Leeds, LS1 4AW and was once again organised by LocalGov Digital.
As with LocalGovCamp 2014, this year featured the familiar Saturday unconference and fringe events on the Friday. All events were free to attend - which could only happen thanks to the generous support from our partners and sponsors.
Fringe events - Friday 11th September 2015
Local Democracy Maker Day saw LocalGov Digital’s LGMakers and Local Democracy Bytes team up with Democracy Club. The day built on some of the discoveries at the successful Not in Westminster event and challenges and user needs encountered by Democracy Club from their work during General Election 2015. If you're part of local government, in an electoral, democratic or digital/web team then this event was for you. It was also open to civic coders and of course to councillors. The hashtag for the event was #LDmaker15.
FutureGov Leaders Summit was an opportunity for senior officers and politicians to come together with peers to hear from both big names in digital, and those who were already getting it right on the ground.
Main event - Saturday 12th September 2015
LocalGovCamp is the unconference for UK Local Government. First held six years ago and taken on by LocalGov Digital in 2014, 2015 promised to be the biggest and best yet and it didn't disappoint.
This year saw LocalGovCamp head North to Leeds, to be one of the first events to use the exciting new space provided by The Studio. If you have an interest in making local public services better then this event was for you. The hashtag for this event was #localgovcamp
